- Spent a lot of time with a small grinding wheel, grinding the inside edges of the pilot-side flap support block. Because of the thickness of the weld at the bracket for the flap handle, the hole in the block needs to be substantially chamfered. Since the blocks are so incredibly hard, it takes time.
- Set the whole assembly in place. The two bolts on the pilot-side fit in the support bracket. At the right side, with one bolt in place I could look up through the hole in the bracket and see that the 2nd hole was off by over 1/16". So I decided to elongate the hole with the side of a drill bit until it fit. I'll add some JB weld to fill the useless side of the hole.
- Note in photo #3 the extra flap handle bracket at the center of the tube. Nothing in the plans notes this, but I presume it's for the flap handle if you build with the controls (flaps and brake) in the center, between the two occupants. I don't need that, so on the next log entry you'll see I cut it off.
