Brief Description:  Hydraulic Brakes (1 of 3)

So if you read yesterday's post you'll see the factory backing plates did not work, so I had to find another way.

I needed to flip the plates, but I had already installed the anchor nuts. So I just used the left plate for the right gear, and the right plate for the left gear. Now I could use the hole in the gear tab to locate the hole in the backing plate. Then I could locate the hole for the 90 deg brass fitting that pokes through the plate in photos 1 & 2.

But when all of this was aligned, the bleeder valve fitting contacted the anchor nut! Dammit! By cutting off the rivet head, and cutting away part of the flange, I BARELY got the brake body to sit flush on the backing plate.
