Brief Description:  Grind brake cams

Note: everything here is something I got from another builder's web page. Thanks!

- To spread the brake shoes I bought the old style wood clamps, cut notches at the OUTSIDE faces, and UN-screwed the clamp to spread the shoes apart.

- Removed the rotating cam that makes the shoes spread out when the brakes are actuated.

Other builders have noted that the sharp edges don't let the brakes work properly and fully, so rounding off the sharp corners appears to fix that.

- So I got in there with my Scotch Brite wheel and ground off the corners as in photo #3.

- After putting the cams back in place, they did seem to work very smoothly.

NO MORE BUILDING FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS. I will be at Airventure Oshkosh 2012 for several days, then off on vacation for the rest of the time!
