- Drilled the holes in the brake drums, to attach to the tab on the axles. Photo #1 shows the hole. #2 shows the tab over the hole. The #2 is to match up with the #2 axle, just to keep alignment consistant.
Note: The plans say to use an AN3-5A to secure this. But if the bolt head is on the outside then the threads are way too long inside, and hit the spring inside. So I will either need a shorter bolt, or I can install the bolt from the inside, and have the threads and nut on the outside. This might be better anyway, since I can visually see if the nut ever backs off.
- Other builders have noted that the dust covers on their shipped wheel assemblies sit way too far above the lip of the wheel hub. Sonex apparently says they ship all their wheels with the correct dimension. However, ALL 4 of mine look like photo #3, which is well over 1/8". Sonex says it's supposed to be about 1/32". I will have to see how other builders seated their assemblies, and then do likewise.
