Went to visit Keith Macht today to check out his project. While there he was kind enough to help me weld the bolt studs to the tube I cut for the tail wheel steering.
Actually, Keith did the first weld, which came out just about perfect. Then he guided me so I could make the second weld. Not too bad, actually, but Keith's was certainly better. Fun stuff, though!
Came home and cleaned up the part. I made an initial fitting of the new part and the two stop nuts, then taped over the stop nuts and the threads that will go into the ball joint fittings.
Prime painted the whole thing and hung it up to dry.
