- Located all the holes w/ a sharpie - Used the punch to set a slight dent at each hole location so the drill bit would not wander across my newly polished surfaces - Used a wood block shaped like the ribs, to back up all this work - Drilled and deburred all the holes - Located and drilled into the outboard rib, as seen in these photos
Per my log last night, the left elevator didn't go this well. But now that I'm looking at the right elevator I'm thinking I can fix the left elevator by making 3 new ribs that have a slightly bigger angle cant at the top corner of the leading edge. Tough to describe here, but I think it would work to make the right elevator much nicer and neater. After I get the right elevator done I'll go back to the left one and see about fixing it.
