Brief Description:  Cockpit air vents

- Did some minor work to get the two water bottles ready to be installed on the spar tunnel

- Then spent the night working on the Van's (yes, that "other" airplane company) fresh air vents. I used the dimensions from another Sonex builder that installed these, to locate them on the side skin. It looked like a good position and they cleared the flap handle in his photos, so I went with them (3-7/8" down from the top of the skin (photo #3), and 2-9/16" forward of the centerline of the rivets in photo #3).

- Following the Van's directions I used countersunk rivets. But I used SSC-32 pulled rivets instead of bucked rivets.

- I then used the piece that would become the new exterior vent door and traced that at the dimensions noted above. I then drilled starter holes and used nibblers, a file, and sand paper to finish the hole to size.

There are more photos on the next 2 pages.
