- Installed the final floating anchor nuts in the removeable section of the instrument panel
- Installed the glare shield by riveting in place. When riveting the angles that join the glare shield and the upper firewall it worked really well to install all the rivets along the glare shield FIRST. The upper firewall can be bent forward to allow access to all the rivet location. Once they were all installed THEN I installed the rivets against the firewall.
- I did NOT rivet the instrument panel in place. I am going to leave that for much later to make it easier to get the fuel tank in place, the rudder pedals and the brake and flap handles.
- Riveted the instrument panel cross tie to the plates that then hold the assembly to the fuselage stringer. However...
- I did not install the 8 rivets (4 each side) that hold the instrument panel cross tie in place to the fuselage stringers. I want to be able to remove it, along with the instrument panel, as note above.
- Loosely installed the 6 motor mount screws (photo #3). I will tighten them tomorrow when my wife can help hold things in place.
