Another frustrating night of drilling stainless. Have I ever stated how much I hate drilling f*&#@ stainless?!!
I broke 4 bits in the span of 3 minutes!! But then light dawned on marble head...
I chucked one of the broken bits so that only about 3/4" was out of the chuck (photo #1). Now I could push hard like a madman, against the stainless and the bit wouldn't break! Between the drill bit and extreme pressure, each hole was nearly punched through instead of drilled. I had to press the back of the drill into my chest to push every bit of force I had in my body against the stainless, to get through. Two hours to make 11 holes!!
