1. Finished F16-03. After talking to other builders, if building a tail dragger, like mine, then there appears to be no reason not to install all of the flush rivets EXCEPT the ones at the gussets (far right in photo #1).
Also in photo #1 notice the rivets circled. These are rivets that do NOT show up on F16-03. They show up on F01, detail B. If you are building a tricycle gear then this area will get filled with the fasteners for the landing gear. But if you are building a tail dragger these rivets need to be added. Since everything is dimpled and countersunk, DO IT NOW; DON'T WAIT FOR SHEET F01!
2. In photo #2 I'm leveling the aft fuselage off of the top edge of the side skins. I need to level it so that when I install the forward side panels I will know the top surfaces are flush and parallel with one another.
3. In photo 3 I'm getting together the parts for the trim lever and the flap detents (note the 3 flap detents instead of the 2 shown on the plans. Most builders do this to give better flap ranges).
