Brief Description: RIGHT aft fuselage construction
|
|
Worked on getting this section in shape for riveting.Updrilled everything. dismantled, deburred, reassembled, and riveted. There are many rivet holes that are not updrilled, and several others that are updrilled but do not get rivets, according to the instructions on this sheet.
The rudder stop plate says to use countersunk rivets on the plans, but a later revision said "or" standard rivets. I didn't have any of the long countersunk rivets, so I installed a standard rivet. But of those I only had 1, so I will need to order more.
The bolts in photo #3 are temporary. I have not received my fuselate hardware yet, but these are the right diameter.
The rear channel #5 I only cleco'd. Since I have not received my fuselage hardware yet, I have not made the fairlead for this channel, and getting it riveted in place while the channel is riveted to the skin would be difficult to impossible. So I'll wait.
