Brief Description:  Wing Rigging #2

On this page:

- Put the 3 alignment pins thru the wing spars (photos #1 & #2). I had to enlarge the spar tunnel holes a bit to get the pins through.

- Leveled the fuselage and then the wings. We found that my long bubble level wasn't all that accurate so we went to the use of a water level.

- Unfortunately I did NOT take any pictures of the water levels we used. We filled long lengths of clear plastic tubing with water and taped them to the identical locations on the rear of the forward fuselage, and at the rib line just outboard of the aileron pushrod hole. By measuring down from the same point on opposite sides of the fuselage and the wings, we could shim around the fuselage and the wings until each was level.

- From there we pushed, pulled and tweaked the wing rigging dimensions on Sheet F02, until everything was square. This alone took a good hour, as every time you moved one measuring point, you had to go back and check ALL the others, including the levelness of the fuselage and the wings.

- Once level and trued up, then we could begin the spar drilling.
