- Drilled the pilot holes into the lower rib flanges
- Flipped the flap over and did the same for the upper rib flanges
- Cleco'd the flap skin (photo #1) to the work bench, then used the thickness of the meter stick to rest the hinge on, to get the right hinge offset dimension.
- Laid out and drilled all the pilot holes in the hinge
- Used double-sided tape to adhere the hinge to the flap skin while holding the offset with the meter stick
- Pilot drilled through the hinge, into the flap skin
- Flipped the wing over, used the level as a straight edge to make sure the hinge was straight across it's entire length
- Drilled into the last face of the flap skin (through hinge holes)
- Updrilled everything to rivet holes size
Skin cleco'd to the work top prior to setting hinge
Hinge pilot drilled in place (meter stick for hinge offset)
