I finally got my fiberglass wingtips from Sonex. So I followed Sonex's printed installation instructions:
- Cut off the rear flange entirely. Keep the cut as tight to the flange as possible. You can always take off more material, but it's very hard to put it back on. I cut it off using a cut-off wheel on a Dremel tool.
- Notched the upper flange to clear the spar cap.
- Test fit the wingtip. Not bad, but the bend in the leading edge skin bulges out a bit in one location (see picture on next page). I'll have to see if I can make that up when installing, or I might have to infill with body filler before painting.
