Brief Description: Pitot/static attach plate REVISED
Finally returned from a ski trip to Big White in B.C., so back to work! Thanks goes to Max Emmighausen and his wife Cathy for inviting us out there. Max is building a Waiex, and is much further along than I am.
After reviewing what I had previously made for the pitot/static attach plate, I decided to scrap that idea. It would have meant mounting from the inside. In the event that the pitot/static assembly might have to be replaced (bent, clogged, etc.), there would have been no way to replace it except to un-rivet the nose skin.
So I'm making a round plate that will attach to the outside of the skin, just like an inspection cover. The bulk of the pitot base will be inside the wing, but because it's attached to the plate I can remove/replace the assembly at any time.
