Brief Description:  The ubiquitous "mated spar" photo (pg 1)

OK, so this is the "have to take it" photo of the first time the spars are mated together!

I put long reach clecos in 2 of the 3 alignment holes (just 3/32" pilot holes now).and everything seemed to be aligned well. The third alignment hole was 1/16" or so off center from it's mate, but when enlarged that slop will no longer be there.

It's hard to see how well the wing attach blocks are aligned. Depending on how you hold your eye over the hole (looking down at the smaller pilot hole in the spacer and angle below), it may look like it's centered, or like it's off by half a football field.

Wouldn't it make more sense if Sonex told you to pilot drill a hole in only one block per pair? That way the drill would track through the first hole, and would presumably take the same track in the virgin block on the other side. As it is now, couldn't the drill track be thrown off from one block to the next if the second block's pilot hole is slightly off from the first block?
