Brief Description:  Finished rear wing spar W12-01L

Finished rear wing spar W12-01L. That completes sheet W12.

Then made the 4 bushings needed for the two bellcrank assemblies on W21. I started trying to cut the steel bushings with the band saw, but that wasn't going very fast at all, and the metal was overheating. So I got out my pipe cutter, which usually cuts copper, but it did a fine job on the steel. The trick was to clamp the bushing stock, and then use very small turns of the pipe cutter handle, going around the piece 2 or 3 times before tightening it. Then a little work with the files, sandpaper, and a tapered reamer (just to get the burrs out of the inside of the bushings), and they were done.

I should be getting my Wicks wing hardware kit tomorrow, so I can then make the rest of the bellcrank assemblies.

The second picture here is me this past weekend. I hiked up Mt. Washington in NH, and skied Tuckerman Ravine (the large bowl in the background).
