Brief Description:  Finish second half of the engine

If you read my last post you'll see I made a substantial mistake last night. Tonight I unbolted the head again, installed the super tin, and reinstalled the nuts and rocker assembly. Now the engine is back to 100% complete for the second time.

During the work on the engine I happened to put my finger in the upper outlet of the intake pipe. It was full of metal shavings and grease! I have no idea wher that came from. I don't think I did anything to put it there, so I'm guessing it is the leftovers from manufacture. If I hadn't caught it all that JUNK was going to get sucked into the engine the first time I ran it!

So check all your pipes and hoses before installing!!

In photo 2 I have a shop rag tied onto the end of a string. To get the string through the long intakes I put a small piece of shop rag on the opposite end of the string and used my shop vac to suck the string through. After turning off the shop vac I just pulled the larger shop rag through the intake to clean it out. I had to tun about 5 shop rags through each of the 2 intakes to get it clean.
