Brief Description:  Canopy Seal - 1 of 2

Like many others, as good as my canopy seal appeared in my basement, with expansion, contraction and reality, I have air coming in between the windscreen and the canopy. There are some scallops in the canopy between the screws, leaving a slight hump where air comes through. In the summer, no big deal. In the winter, just one more place for cold air to enter!

Dudley Foster showed me this trick that seems to work well. I got some V-shaped weatherstripping, which is extremely thin, and installed it on the windscreen bow strap, with the Vee facing forward. You have to cut slits every now and then or the Vee just lies flat due to the curve, and doesn't seal anything. But I only cut slits where I needed to.

See page 2 for a close-up.
