Here are some closeups of the locking pin itself, and how it's used. I got the locking pin on Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FMWA1U/ref=pe_175190_21431760_M2C_SC_dp_1 If that link doesn't work it was: Stainless Steel Quick-Release Pin, Cadmium Plated Finish, Locking, Hole and Split Ring, 3/16" Diameter, 0.5" Usable Length UPC #094713065661 Brand Name Small Parts Part Number B00DC5OJYI As of 12/15/14 it was no longer available on Amazon, but maybe you can find it elsewhere, or something like it. 3/16" dia x 1/2" long is as small as you can find on the market.
