1. Cleco'd the wing root doublers (that I have previously marked and cut) in place and remeasured. I used a piece of the rubber gap seal to check the size of the gap I needed. After confirming, I marked a piece of paper with the gap dimension and put it against the fuselage (photos below). I then marked the doublers all the way around the wing.
(So tonight I connected the dots, and cut along the new lines, to give me the final dimension so I can rivet the doublers in place.)
2. Some of the control surfaces did not have the safety cotter pins in place to ensure the hinge pins do not work themselves out. The ailerons had the pins in one end but not the other, so today I drilled for those and put in the (tiny!) cotter pins.
3. The rudder hinge pin had not been fully set. So today I drove it home, and put in the safety cotter pin just like for the ailerons (described above).
