Long ago I added the two tabs for fastening together the cowl at the propeller hub. When I drilled for the fastener installation one tab was a bit short. I was afraid the fastener was going to be too close to the edge and pull out. So I added some more glass to the end (right-hand tab in photo 1, and tab in photo 2). It's more than I need so after it's dry I'll cut off the extra.
Photo 3 is the Skybolt system. The insert at the right screws into one of the tabs. The anchor at the left is spring-loaded and goes in the other cowl half. It grabs the insert when the two come together.
In photo 1 the tab at the left has one of the inserts test fit.
