Finished the installation of the ELT, including riveting the shelf in place, attaching the audio alert box, and running and securing the antenna coax.
The small rectangular box in front of the ELT is and audio enunciator that sounds if the ELT is activated. Just one more way to let the pilot know if it has activated purposely or by accident.
I still need to run a wire from the audio aler to the remote mounted in the bulkhead (see earlier posts), but the wire that came with the unit is WAY too long, so I'm hoping to get a shorter one. I have asked the factory what type of wire I need to look for. It looks like telephone wire.
