Brief Description:  More canopy tweaking

OK, so I'm not done with the canopy...

1. I needed to make some more tweaks to the washer thicknesses to get the canopy better aligned with the adjacent windscreen and fuselage. That took some time. Lots of trial and error.

2. Since I added the canopy plexi to the frame, I have not been able to close the canopy slide/latch. So it was time to tackle that problem. As far as I can tell, it's because the bottome surface of the square tube of the slide/latch is now tilted downward at the outside corner, This raises the canopy frame to the point that the forward notch of the latch can't move forward.

So I pulled the hinge pin out of the canopy and removed it, taking the canopy to my workbench (photo below). Then I made the notch wider with a combination of the Dremel cutoff wheel, files and sandpaper.

I reinstalled the canopy and the slide now moves forward, but the back notch is a little tight, so tomorrow I'll trim it down slightly and that should do it.

Both Al Lavender and Dudley Foster came over today (different times) to visit my project.
