In the AeroVee assembly manual they show a picture of the oil cooler with the hoses installed BEFORE puting it on the engine. Last time I had done it the other way, and I think that helped lead to me galling the threads. There was a lot more control doing all that work on the bench.
Then all I had to do was make one attachment at the engine (photo 2).
Everything on the engine is ready for a first start!
