So I spent about 1.5 hours reassembling, torquing and feeler-guaging the second half of the engine. I went to install the valve cover and noticed something that was still sitting on the bench that shouldn't have been...
The super tin!!! It's supposed to be between the cylinders and the pushrod tubes. To do that you have to install it BEFORE you put the head and rockers in place! From the photograph below you can see I didn't do that!

I'm not even logging my time on this tonight. I didn't actually accomplish anything.
