Brief Description:  Transponder harness

I added some more JB Weld to the fuel tank vent. Yesterday I did one side, now I did the other. Next I can start to smooth it out with yet more layers. Only took 5 minutes.

The Sandia STX-165 transponder comes with the parts to make your own harness/connectors. The unit has a 9-pin and a 15-pin connector, but for a panel mount that is not tieing into anything else (like an EFIS) the ONLY thing I need is the 9-pin connector with a power and ground wire.

In photo 2 I have soldered the wires (20ga) and installed red and black heat shrink over the connections. Then I shrunk on a longer white piece of heat shrink.

In photo 3 the connector is complete.

Tomorrow I will cut the wires to length and add the connectors. I ordered a coax cable with the right connectors, so after making the connectors I will be ready to install.
