Brief Description:  Outside Air Temp probe

Installed the OAT probe. There seems to be very few good places to put one. If it pokes through the fuselage or a wing, that makes polishing around the probe very difficult. You can't put it under the aircraft because the hot exhaust will hit it.

So I did as some others have and drilled a hole in the windscreen, running the wires down through the glare shield.

I had to make a couple of soldered connections, and had to drill the holes, but it shouldn't have taken me 1.75 hours to do. I was trying to make the hole in the windscreen as small as possible, but when I pulled the wires through to the probe the heat shrink around it would not go through. So I'd pull it out and upsize the hole. I should have just drilled a bigger hole from the start. It's going to get sealed.
