Brief Description:  Cut baffles to fit cowl

- With the baffles in place on the engine, I laid over the right cowl and pinned it in place. The instructions say to leave about 1/2" between the baffles and the cowl. My forefinger is about 1/2" thick, so I ran my finger along the top of the baffle. Where my finger fit, the baffle was the correct height. Where my finger would not fit, I made a mark on the baffle to start cutting there.

- Using the drawings that come with the baffle, I noted what needed to be cut, where (photo 2). It's better to cut too little than too much, so I always noted about 1/8" less than I thought.

- Then I took the cowl off, marked the baffles per my markups, and drew rough Sharpie lines along which to cut.

- I was going to take the baffles off to do the cutting, but that would have taken a LOT of time to remove, cut, reinstall and re-test the fit. So I decided to see if I could leave the baffles in place and cut them. Turns out, I could! There was enough room to get my Andy snips in there to do the job.

- Photo 3 shows one side of the baffle cut. You can see the other side has not yet been measured and cut.
