- With the upper cowl off, I trimmed the inlets to size, then sanded them smooth (photos 1 & 2).
- Put the upper cowl back on the aircraft so I could mark (on the lower cowl inlets) the exact point that the upper cowl inlets (now trimmed) met. That way the inlets woudl be even and continuous.
- Removed the upper cowl. Didn't want to remove teh lower cowls yet, so I put paper over the engine to keep off the dust, then trimmed the lower cowl inlets to size (photo 3), and sanded them smooth.
