Brief Description:  Laying out electric runs & firewall penetration

With a descent wiring diagram in hand, I decided to see where the wires would run, and where they would go through the firewall. Since only the smoke oil pump has wires on this side of the firewall, I used string as stand-ins for the rest of the wires. That way I could take a rough look at where the wires were coming from, where they would have to run, and finally where they would go through the firewall. All wires will go through one single point. In photo #2 you can see the "wires" test fit through a sleeve.

The sleeve I used is a steel electrical sleeve, from Home Depot. Once I run the wires through (with a couple of spares just in case I need to run something else through someday) I will completely fill the sleeve with fire caulk.

I also located where I will put the terminal block for the avionics bus. It will mount to the underside of the glare shield. I'll place that and drill for it tomorrow.
