Brief Description:  Finally finished flywheel

OK. So I got more shims and a new oil seal.

I played with the shims and got 0.003 end play; right in spec! Installed the oil seal, then the flywheel with the required sealant. Torqued the gland nut to 225 ft/lb, with LockTite on it.

Installed the back plate and torqued the 4 bolts.

Set the magnetron spacing with the .010 shim. What may not be understood from the instructions is that on the flywheel is only ONE magnet, so the other "bump" on the opposite side of the flywheel is just a counterweight. So when setting the magnetron spacing you must put the magnet at magnetron 1, set it, then spin the crank 180 degrees to get the magnet under the 2nd magnetron. Set the spacing.

Installed the trigger cap. Next step is spark plugs!

So if you've read my past frustrating posts, here's what happened:
The "grinding" that I was feeling was the magnet scraping on the magnetron, but I didn't realize it. I thought it was the flywheel being too tight because of shims that were too thick. So I took the whole flywheel assembly off and started from scratch with the shims. IT WAS A GOOD THING I DID! because my end play was WAY too loose; like 2 to 3 times what it should have been! So by making a mistake about the binding, I fixed what would have been a HUGE problem later on.
