Couldn't work on the engine tonight. I don't have a bolt that will work to bolt the case to the engine stand. One bolt works; the other side seems to have a slightly narrower bolt. Odd. So off to the hardware store tomorrow.
I was then going to add the synthetic washers to isolate the headset jacks from the metal of the airplane. But that didn't work, either. There is a little tab that needs to be cut off, or it (being metal) will contact the fuselage. But it is a THICK little piece and can't be bent or cut. SO.... I have to remove the entire jack assembly from the airplane, and all the wiring I had secured, so I can get it on the work bench and use my Dremel cut-off wheel to cut off the tab. Then I can install it all over again.
So I worked on the canopy latch. It didn't have enough travel to engage the locking pin. So I elongated the notches that latch the canopy closed, until I got it to work.
The first 90% of the aircraft was easy. It's the last 90% that takes forever!!
