- Finished riveting the lower side of the right wing tip (photo #2)
- Since I had painted the wings before riveting the wing tip in place none of the new rivets were red. I was going to use a small paint brush to add primer, paint and then clear coat. But I had the idea of using my wife's red Subaru touch up paint. I did a test last night and without any primer on the stainless steel rivets, the paint would only scratch off with great effort. So I painted all the rivet heads with the touch up paint. It's not an exact match, but's it's pretty close!
- Went back to the firewall clamps for the new overflow drain tube and took out the sheet metal screws I had attached them with. Instead I used the machine screws and nuts called for on the plans. But with the heads on the firewall side, the long screws were sticking out close to the rudder pedal and other places that could snag something, so I installed them with the heads on the cockpit side, and the nuts on the firewall side (photo #3).
