Brief Description:
Install LEFT leading edge skin
I'm waiting for Sones to deliver my fiberglass wing tips. So while I'm waiting I'm starting on the LEFT wing.
See April 4, 2011 for the same procedures done on the RIGHT wing.
- Drew a 3/8" guideline along the back edge of the top of the leading edge skin.
- Slipped the back edge of the leading edge skin UNDER the upper aft skin (which had holes aligned with the holes in the spar cap).
- Aligned the left and right edges of the leading edge skin, and made sure the guide line was centered along all the holes in the skin.
- Clamped the skin in place
- Drilled the skin along the entire spar cap, and cleco'd in place.
Leading edge skin with 3/8" offset for holes.
Leading edge UNDER the aft top skin, for locating holes in leading edge skin (rafters in reflection).
The leading edge skin drilled and cleco'd along the top spar cap.
