Brief Description:  Vertical stab work

I realized the rod end bearings for the rudder have THREE different depths to set. The elevators had only one, and I made the mistake of thinking the numbers were the same, here. The plans really hide important information in little note strewn around the drawing.

So I set all 3 to the distances I found on the plans, then checked the L/R travel of the rudder. It met the 30 deg minimum, and would go at least to 35 deg, too (the max).

Per photo #2, note that the plans say to measure the depth of the lowest hinge from the face of the SPAR WEB to the center of the hole. Well guess what? There is a reinforcing plate down there, so there is no way to measure from the spar web. You need to subtract the thickness of that reinforcing plate to get that correct depth.

Started to work on fitting the fiberglass tip.
