Brief Description: Rolling rudder leading edge
|
|
The top most tab rolling came out OK, but for the next two, longer ones, I want to turn the edge of the skin down slightly with an edge rolling tool, which I don't have but just ordered. That tool is only needed for the tabs with the straight edges, so I rolled the middle tab with the 90 deg bend.
Again, I used the larger diamter dowel, but it really just doesn't do much. So I went back to the smaller diameter dowel and really worked the roll with my hands (VERY CAREFULLY OR I'D CREASE IT!).
The metal is thick enough that the center of the tab/dowel interface doesn't get rolled as well as the ends, so working that area with your hands and the dowel together, is required.
That's all for tonight.
