On the first wingtip, sanded with rough, medium then fine sandpaper to blend everything together. Removing the lens was more of a challenge than I though it would be. The filler stuck to the black tape more than I has planned for. I carefully used a razor blade to cut where the black tape and the blue filler met. I had to remove all the painter's tape to get to the black tape. Then I pulled at the black tape perpendicular to the lens, until I could get a popsicle stick underneath one corner. Then I used that to gentry pry the lens away from the filler.
After that, with the lens removed, I sanded the edges with fine sandpaper to get a good transition. The black tape may be thin, but it still has some thickness to it, that needed to be feathered to the lens.
I sanded the first coat of the 2nd wingtip, and that actually needs very little filler to fill some low spots. I'll do that tomorrow.
