Brief Description: Fitting right wingtip light lens
Started on the lens cover for the right wingtip lights.
I cut the large lens (both lenses are part of one assembly that needs to be cut in half). I used the cutoff wheel on the Dremel. That did NOT work well, whether at high or low speed. It creates too much heat and makes a molten mess along the cut, plus creating a lot of smoke. I finished cutting in half with the Dremel, but then put it away.
So how to cut this stuff?! What worked well was to use my large aluminum shears. Did a great job. Cut little by litte, made a lot of test fits and Sharpie lines. It's one of those things where on change in one spot changes things in 2 other spots. So you have to be very incremental.
The sharp tip of the lens did not cut well with the shears, but since there was only a couple inches of the tip left, I cut that off with the band saw.
Then lots o filing to get closer and closer to the finish lines.
Even after and hour of work, I still have more to go. I decided to call it a night, so I'll try to finish tomorrow.
