Brief Description:  Riveting the right flap

Continued riveting the various parts and pieces of the flap.

The flap instructions and plans are VERY difficult to follow. There are numerous places where you have to search HARD to find the information you need. The cross section view shows or calls out none of the rivets for attaching the skins and the hinge. It's the perfect place to show that, but nothing...

The pulled rivets that attach the two angles at the root rib are very difficult to install. The one closest to the curved upper skin is tucked back too far to easily use a rivet puller. Even with the angled "ramp" to install those rivets, the stem of the rivets kept breaking off an inch above the rivet, so I had to cut them off CAREFULLY with the Dremel wheel.

These tight details could easily be done other ways if someone took a little time to relook at the proceedures. And the instructions and the plans could be a LOT clearer.

Some of the rivet lengths in the plans are also suspect. There are places where a 3-3.5 rivet is called for when going through FOUR pieces of aluminum. The same size as they call for to attach the skins to the ribs (just 2 layers of aluminum). In some of those areas with 3 or 4 layers, I chose to bump up to 3-4 rivets. I'm still scratching my head about some of the choices.
