Brief Description:  T-405 Tank Support Bracket

Finished countersinking the tank skin at the baffle (did one side last night, the second tonight).

Made the T-405 Tank Support Bracket from the 2x2.5 angle stock.

1. I scanned the detail on the drawing, made it a bitmap
2. Then brought it into my CAD program.
3. I then scaled it to match the dimensions on the drawing.
4. Printed it to scale.
5. Used spray cement from Staples to adhere it to the angle
6. Cut just outside the lines on the band saw.
7. Finished with a LOT of filing, and then the Scotchbrite wheel.

Used the T-410 plate that goes on the other side of the rib, to check the shaping of the bracket.

The plans don't tell you anything about how precise you need to be in locating it on the rib. They call out 2" from the nose. They don't say if it's from the outside of the rib, or the inside. It matters by the thickness of the rib metal. I looked ahead in the plans to see how it's used. It will get a nutplate later, to accept a bolt from a slotted bracket in the fuselage. So I reckon if we put it too far in one direction it won't clear the fuselage bracket. If it goes too far in the other direction I assume some shims could be used.

IT WOULD BE REALLY NICE IF THEY EXPLAINED THIS, SO WE DON'T F**K IT UP!
