- Made the cuts in the rear spar to allow the elevator horns to travel. Not much actually needed to be removed. I got nowhere even close to the spar structures, so the notches are only half the depth of the spar channel. Even so, I get more than 5 degrees of extra travel in the elevators, beyond the max allowed.

- Before drilling the holes in the rudder horns I wanted to try to see ahead of time, whether there might be any binding. A pencil would not fit through the bearing, so I used the ScotchBright wheel to carve away at the pencil until it fit through.

- I drew a mark on the horn, then rotated the elevator to see if the pencil mark stayed more or less centered in the horn. It did.
