I bent the webs of the center sections of the forward spar. The plans say to bend them to 6 deg, but really you don't need to be too precise. The spar angles and doublers will set the angle. So just get close and don't worry abou an exact 6 deg.
The instructions are VERY unclear about how to properly drill the holes in the doublers, spar webs and spar angles. This is what I did:
- Put the doublers on the webs, and drill ONLY the holes that don't go through the spar angles. - Take the doublers off the spar web, and cleco the doublers to the spar angles. - Now drill #30 holes through the angles, using the holes in the doublers as a guide. - Cleco everything together and guess what? It all fits perfectly.
Bending the center webs, up 6 deg.
There are holes and no holes in the spar angles, that can't be seen from this side.
At the top is the doubler and 2 spar angles I drilled first.
