To make bending the tabs work, you need to make precisely angled blocks. It would be nice if Vans included a template on the plans, of the correct size and angle to make the blocks. Instead you need to figure it out yourself.
Poor documentation.
The concept of these tabs is fine, but in practice they suck. These ends should all be done with a small "rib" like I ended up doing for the left elevator.
The ONLY way the blocks work is to use double sided tape to keep them from slipping. Unfortunately my tape left a huge amount of residue that is difficutl to remove in the tight confines of the tab.
Poor design. They ought to change this whole "tab" thing.
