Brief Description:  Rudder rivets & trailing edge

Finished all the perimeter rivets in the rudder.

Used a 5/16" dia. dowel to hold the trailing edge of the skins apart to make it easy to install the epoxy and the trailing edge angle (photo #2).

I put JB Weld on the first skin, then installed the trailing edge angle. I used JB Weld because it's good on metals, and has a long working time. It sets in 4 to 6 HOURS, and cures in 24 hours. I'll let it set closer to 48 hours.

Pulled the dowel out, and cleco'd the skins to the alignment angle (see the photos on the next page).
