Time to start the rudder construction. When i remove the R-901 skins from the box and was getting ready to start, i noticed an unusual dark spot under the vinyl film on the R.skin. AND, "It had wings"!
Looks like a "Fly" was resting on the bare aluminum when the vinyl was applied over the top of him. Unfortunate for the fly, but i guess i was just a bit concerned that his " body fluids" could have been sealed under the vinyl and cause a corrosion concern. So, i sent them a photo and my concern. I'm sure they got a good laugh, and mentioned they had never been asked about "bug guts" before. However, they were very professonal, and ask me to "expose the area and clean with soap and water". After cleaning.. A stain remained, and even after cleaning with Acetone" per Van's instruction..... His "outline" remained. So, Having seen no pitting or any problem other than a stain, Van's say's to "build on", there should be no problem.
So, i gave him a name... And moved on.
