Today I started out to install the heater ducting system. However I quickly noticed that all my past activity had deposited a lot of trash into the bottom of the fuselage so I spent the first hour and a half cleaning out all the shavings, dust, and parts / pieces that had collected down there. The cleaning job finished, I installed the heater hose ducting to the bottom of the rear deck plate. I then did a temp fitting to the upper components of the system. In photo 1 you can see the side view of how this will fit up under the engine shroud. Photo 2 shows the angle that the ducting will set at, blowing the air out and to the side of the fuselage. I had thought that I may have to put some sort of aluminum sheet on the fuselage to protect the fabric, but now I know that this will not be necessary since the air will be blown out and away from the fuselage surface. Photo 3 shows the heater duct as it enters the rear cockpit floor. I put a coating of 1" foam on the floor of the aircraft to provide a bit of insulation for heat, and to filter out noise, and to make the area look nicer.
