I spent the better part of the day making a temproary installation of the windscreen. The original windscreen that came with the kit served as my pattern piece. It has been scratched, painted over, and other wise abused in the hands of others prior to taking possesion of this project. I bought a new tinted [smoke color] lexan windscreen from Quad City Ultralights, and will use this original piece as my pattern to cut out the new one. I will complete all trimming and fabrication on this one, and transfer the cut out lines to the new one this next week. Photo 1 shows a front view with the wind screen installed using clecos. Photo 2 is the front [left] side view, and photo 3 is looking from the rear left side. The right side brace will be modified to hinge from the right front center area of the windscreen to the right windscreen brace. This will give far more room to enter and exit the cockpit with the wings attached to the airframe. The doors were built prior to installation of the windscreen so I will have to modify things a bit to match up the windscreen to the doors ... with all the gap sealing I have been making to close up the cockpit to keep heat in, I'll have to make some gap seals for the door to wind screen overlap areas.
