Brief Description: Removed isolator washers from headphone jacks
Emailed Van's Tech Support again about my ongoing audio problem. They responded quickly and recommended that I made sure that there are no isolator washers on the headphone jacks. I had placed isolator washers on these jacks because I followed the instructions in Section 31B-17. Apparently, the conversion harness, which I have, requires the headphones to be grounded to the seats (fuselage) unlike the new Skyview harness. Removed the paint around the headphone jacks and removed the isolator washers. When I turned the radio ON everything was working. The volume was right and the intercom and sidetone were working. What a relief! I've had this problem for several month and now it's finally fixed, hopefully, permanently. Went back to the Config and Setup modes to make sure the Van's default settings in the GTR 200 were set properly. Turned the radio ON and OFF and the fix seems to be holding.
