Brief Description: Work on SV AP Knob Panel and wire harnesses
I was having problems installing the SV-AP Knob Panels. The screw holes in the panels do not perfectly line up with holes in the nutplates on the Center Panel. I had broken a couple of screws while tightening them because of the misalignment. Enlarged the holes in the Knob Panels using a small round file which improved the hole alignment.
Removed the WH-00031 Switch Module Harness from the AV-50001 Power and Switch Module. Removed the pins from positions15, 18 and 19 of the 25-pin D-sub connector, applied heat shrink tubing to the pins and folded the wires back on the harness.
Replaced the pins that were removed with those coming from the WH-000105 SV-AP Knob Harness. Used a wire spoon to pass the wires through the heat shrink around the harness and it made it very easy. I wish I had bought this tool a long time ago when I worked with the other harnesses. Re-assembled the 25-pin D-sub backshell and connected to the Power and Switch Module. Routed the 4 AP Disconnect Switch wires below the Panel Base and inserted the pins in an ES-0007 Molex housing. Inserted the pins from the AP Disconnect Switch to a corresponding ES-0008 housing.
